It is with this in mind that Fundisa Children’s Foundation embarked on the Adopt a Pupil Campaign in Mutorashanga at Muriel Mine School on the 10th of November 2019. The campaign ran under the theme ‘Creating the Future’ which coincided with the goals of the organisation. 50 underprivileged children had been previously identified as benefactors of the campaign and were as such, adopted by the organisation. Huge grins, smiles and happy faces greeted the team as they arrived at the school. Excitement was abuzz as the team members met and got acquainted with the teachers and staff at the school. A quick tour led by the headmaster ensued as the team was further briefed on the prevailing situation at the school.
Inspirational stories on the importance of education were shared by some members of Fundisa and teachers alike. The dances put on by some team members amidst the joyful and grateful children were the highlight of the day.
Items that were donated included uniforms, bags to carry books in, shoes and stationery. The team was hailed by a group of grateful guardians, parents, teachers and students who expressed profound gratitude. The team later departed the venue to the cheers and ululation of a happy crowd. Profound gratitude and appreciation will forever be awarded to our generous sponsors without whom this would be an impossible task.
